  • Reservations: Are appreciated for all meals, but walk-ins are welcome. Our restaurant hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Larger Private Party Afternoon Buy-Outs (11 a.m. – 4 p.m.) for 50 or more attendees: Please call or email for more information on private events.
  • Warren Tavern: Offering our dinner menu. Tuesday through Sunday, 4 to 9 pm. No reservations required
  • Dress Code: Smart Casual Dress for all meals. No jacket required. We ask: no jeans, shorts, tee shirts.
  • Smoking Policy: As per the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania law- no smoking is permitted in restaurant or guest suites. Outdoor diners are respectfully requested to smoke out on lawn, or at smoking areas at front of restaurant.
  • Guest Suites: Rates are for 2 guests. Continental Breakfast is included in suite rate and is offered 7 mornings a week. Breakfast times are normally 8 – 10 am. Holiday lodging dates may affect these times. Please inquire at reservation time or at check-in. Please note all our guest suites are on second and third floor of the building and are only accessible by stairs.
    All guest suites have a sitting room, bed room and private bath. See individual listing on Guest Suites page for bed size and amenities. Hair dryers, irons and mini ironing boards, Complimentary high-speed internet connections, flat screen TV and direct dial phones are in each suite. Check in time is after 2 pm, and check out by 11 am sharp. 48 Hour cancellation policy required for all lodging reservations. Certain dates and holidays require pre-paid in advance without a refund option. Please inquire. No pets. No children under the age of 12. Early check-ins / luggage drop off can be accommodated if occupancy allows and is arranged in advance.
  • Methods of Payment: Cash, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Diner Club, Discover. Major credit card required in advance to reserve a suite, but payment at check-out can be via another form of payment. Corporate or personal checks accepted with advanced notice and approval.
  • Cell Phone Policy: As a courtesy to other guests, please take cell phone calls in tavern, front foyer or outside.
  • Specialty Cakes and Desserts: General Warren has a full time Pastry Chef and can provide special cakes and desserts for your function or reservation. We request at least 48 hours notice for orders. Many of these desserts can also be purchased for takeout.
  • Dietary Limitations: Our Chefs are very familiar with specific dietary limitations including gluten free (Celiac), vegetarian, true vegan, no sodium, no dairy, etc. Please notify us of dietary requests and our service staff will assist. Advanced notice is appreciated. Please note our dinner menu lists gluten free items.
  • Children's Menu: Even though not listed on our menus, we can provide children with options including plain pasta or with sauce, chicken fingers with french fries, or smaller portions of many adult appetizers and entrees.
  • BYO Wine: Since we offer a large selection of economically priced house and fine wines, we prefer that you purchase these wines. With advanced notice, we can search the market for a special wine(s) for your upcoming function. Those that want to bring their own wine, we request advanced notice and will access a corkage fee of $20 per bottle (larger bottles charged on pro rata basis). BYO wine is limited to groups of 6 or less guests. All BYO guests must inform us prior to arrival of intentions. This corkage fee may be waived or reduced based on any purchases of our wines by your reservation.
  • BYO Desserts: The General Warren has a full time pastry chef, so with some notice we will create special desserts for your function. Guests that want to provide their own desserts are subject to a $2.50 per attending guest plate charge. However, if guests also order desserts from our menu, this charge may be waived. We request advanced notice of BYO Desserts.
  • Gift Cards: General Warren Gift Cards can be redeemed for food, beverage, lodging and payment of taxes, gratuity and other services. Gift Cards are valid indefinitely but we request redemption within three years of purchase for in-house accountability. We do not deduct value from your card during the three years they are valid! General Warren reserves the right to limit the number of promotional-value added gift cards sold at one time or to an individual or group and limits the number/value of gift card redemptions at a single function
  • Party Deposits: $500 deposits are required to hold private party rooms and $1000 deposits for weddings and larger functions that reserve the entire inn. Refunds are provided only if cancellation is early enough prior to date of event to allow us the opportunity to re-sell the space. Deposits are applied to the final payment as a credit.
  • Parking/Transportation:
    There is ample free parking at the General Warren.
    Transportation may be arranged via Shuttle Service from the Philadelphia Airport to Malvern with advanced notice. Please let us know at least one week prior to your visit, so we can make the necessary shuttle reservations. You may also arrange pickup by Taxi from the Paoli or Malvern Train Station. Please discuss all your transportation requests with our Innkeeper, at least one week prior to your visit. The local Shuttle rate will be assessed with your final bill.
  • Private Party Rooms during normal business hours:
    The General Warren offers three private party rooms that can accommodated the following guest sizes:
    The North Room: Minimum 15 to maximum 28.
    The Carriage Room: Minimum 26 to maximum 45
    The Admiral Vernon*: Minimum 36 to maximum 60
    *This room can be divided to accommodate two private parties simultaneously from 8 to 30 guests
    Smaller Groups can request privacy and will be accommodated based on availability/demand for space. The All Season-All Weather Spring House Terrace can accommodate cocktail and hors d'oeuvres receptions for up to 50 guests. Please note times for terrace private parties have limited time availability. Please contact us for more information.
    The Main Dining Room (and the adjacent front Porch and Carriage Room) can be reserved upon the discretion of management on certain dates for dining of up to 120 guests.
  • Larger Private Parties and Events:
    The entire General Warren can be reserved when not open to the public (Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. until 5 pm) for groups of 50 to 150 that meet specific food and beverage minimums. Please contact a function planner for more information
  • Al fresco / Outdoor Dining on Spring House Terrace:
    Our heated and covered Lower Terrace is available 52 weeks of the year, while the Upper Terrace and Flagstone Patio dining are available only with cooperative weather. Request for either weather affected spaces will have an alternative indoor table held for them on that date and time of the reservation.
  • Service Dogs: Certified & Trained Service Dogs are welcome at General Warren’s Restaurant, Tavern, Terrace and Guest Suites.
  • Emotional Support Animals (ESA): Handlers/Owners of ESA need to provide written documentation to bring ESA into the restaurant, tavern, terrace or guest suites. We respectfully request advanced notice of anyone bringing an ESA. For hotel guests, an ESA in the suite at any time (overnight or just to visit) will have a $50 fee added to that suite rate per night. In addition, any damage to suite caused by guest or ESA will be added as an additional clean or repair fee at/after check-out.
